Vampiís Vegetarian "Wham"
A dish that even "Babe" would love.
1-2 pkgs. Worthington Foods' "Wham" (ham alternative)
1 cp. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 cp. pure maple syrup (or 1 cp. firmly packed brown sugar for a milder flavor)
1/4 tsp. each - Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Garlic Garlic Salt, Large Ground Pepper
1/2 c. - Fat Free Margarine or Butter (Melted)
1 pkg. - Fresh or frozen mixed stewing vegetables. (Small potatoes, baby carrots, onions, celery, broccoli, water chestnuts, etc.)
1 pkg. - Athens Fillo (Phyllo) dough (sheet pastry or puff pastry sheets)
Pastry brush.

(I use wooden spoons - they donít marr or bruise the ingredients - and I donít even OWN a mixer! I use a hand whisk)

Thaw "WHAM"  according to package instructions.
Prepare a medium casserole dish (covered) (according to the size of your meatless turkey) with natural cooking spray, margarine, or butter.
Place 4 sheets of Fillo dough in bottom of pan across the width. Place WHAM slices stacked length-wise in the pan on top of dough.
Prepare melted butter adding spices and maple syrup according to taste mixing with a tiny whisk or fork. Dip pastry brush into butter preparation - stirring spices as you go.
Apply butter to WHAM with pastry brush in between each slice. Add 2 sheets of fillo dough, brush with butter, forming pastry to the shape of the WHAM forming a loaf. Alternate fillo dough and butter until 8-10 layers of dough are formed. End with spreading butter mixture on outside, soaking the pastry, then use hands and fingers to smooth dough. Turn loaf on its side. Surround with vegetables abd brush them with remaining butter mixture.
Cover. Bake 1 hour until all vegetable are done.

Serve with candied yams.
